In 2016 The Royal Mint sparked a collecting phenomenon with the introduction of the Beatrix Potter 50p series. Issued to celebrate 250 years since the birth of the renowned Children’s author, Beatrix Potter, these 50p coins have been unprecedented in their popularity. The tale continues with the 2019 Peter Rabbit 50p coin, which is the fourth coin to feature the much-loved Children’s character. Struck by The Royal Mint the reverse of the coin features an original illustration of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter that has been engraved by Royal Mint coin designer, Emma Noble. The obverse of the coin shows Her Majesty the Queen by Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark.
