This £5 coin has been issued to celebrate over 150 years of Lewis Carroll’s fantastical tale, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Ffion Gwillim's design emulates Sir John Tenniel’s original illustrations from Carroll’s original tales. The design features Alice and the Cheshire Cat, from their initial meeting in the story, with the title of the book to the right. The obverse features the fifth portrait of HM QEII by Jody Clark.
